Emily has over thirteen years of experience working in sustainability. With a background in the construction materials sector, and an experienced LCA practitioner, she supports businesses to make better decisions based on data. She enjoys working with organisations to identify, plan and take actions leading to real change.
As thinkstep-anz’s Service Director, she brings our shared knowledge together so we can maximise the impact of our projects. She strongly believes in the key role of business in the transition to a sustainable future.
Emily is particularly proud of projects that prompt discussion and wider action. This includes the report Meeting the climate challenge through digital technology which we developed together with New Zealand telecommunications company Spark in 2022.
She is a past president (2019-2023) and current committee member of the Life Cycle Association of New Zealand (LCANZ). She is the Chair of LCANZ Professional Development Sub-Committee, is on the Infrastructure Sustainability Council's Sustainable Materials Advisory Panel and is a member of the Embodied Carbon Technical Advisory Group of New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
Originally from the UK, she is loyal to the British version of Marmite. Emily is an accomplished piano player with a fondness for the ragtime style. When she’s not working she enjoys cryptic crosswords and a good book.
